I recommend letting your wife stay home so you get a cooked meal every day, it works out way better.

working isn't an excuse. both my parents worked full time, and we had a home-cooked meal each and every night. we never ate out. three kids. why? because they made it a priority. i'm talking meat, gravy, rice/potatoes and fresh vegetables every single night.

I had two working parents as well, plus they were active volunteers. You find the time to,do what's important to you....whether that's a weekly massage, hours of TV or gaming, exercise, or feeding yourself/family good food. And make those damn kids help out...mama n daddy aren't supposed to be doing laundry, mowing the lawn, etc. Why have children if not for the labor force? Ha.

My mom is way too psycho about laundry and my dad way too psycho about the lawn to let us do that.

My brother used to beg to cut the grass and dad was like HELL NO.

We got one who only likes veggies, but will eat chicken fingers.

We go to a MExican Restarant the six year old, wants lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream on flour tortillas. The five year old wants just beef on a tortilla.

The little one wants bacon every day for breakfast, the older wants Cherries and blueberries.
they both like egg whites, but "not the yellow stuff"

I haven't read through all 4 pages, so some of this may be a repeat. I have a 6 year old and with work and school, it's definitely hard to have a good meal on the table.
I try to cook something substantial on Sunday afternoons like chicken stew, roast and gravy, spaghetti and meatballs, just something that we can eat on for a few days. Then on each weekday I'll make corn, broccoli, green beans, some veggie that I know she'll eat, to go with it.
Other things that I cook that she eats good and easy are red beans and rice, jambalaya, taco casserole, hotdogs and chili, hamburger steaks and gravy with rice, homemade pizza. Sometimes we do breakfast for dinner and I'll made eggs and bacon with french toast.

It's definitely a struggle, I know!!

I have never really liked pizza, so that has never been an issue of health for me. Sometimes making grilled cheese with turkey and a side of tomato soup is the best way to go. Also chunky sirloin soup is really good and has a lot of country veggies, but drenched in a sauce that is probably far from nutritious. It's still really good and a quick make.

When my kids were young, we rotated meals and always ate as a family. We went out every Friday night, even if just to Cracker Barrel.

Red beans, rice, sausage, cornbread
Spaghetti with meat sauce, salad
Tuna fish sandwiches with macaroni/cheese
Tacos
Hamburgers in the oven and baked beans
Jambalaya (Oak Grove if busy)
Baked chicken, green beans, corn on the cob
Ham sandwiches, potato salad
Hamburger helper and salad
Hot dogs, chili

Some healthy, some moderately healthy, some not, but all cooked fresh and all eaten as a family.

We have about 20 meals we rotate and then we eat at my mom's or my in-laws once a week (live on same street). My kid (almost 2) eats anything though, never seen anything like it. Fruits, veggies, meat/fish. We've yet to have him turn something down. My wife made his baby food and as soon as he got off of it we started feeding him whatever we ate. Not eating it was ever an option.
