I always thought this list should be titled “Reataurants unwilling to pay off the Health Inspector.”
This.
I eat at a few of these places and have never had an issue with the food.
Tea Garden on Elysian is on TOP of the list. I know the owner and he’s the sort of fellow to tell the Inspector to frick off if he asked for a bribe. And Tea Garden is usually packed with people from the neighborhood, UNO students, and cops. I’m sure they’re laughing at this ‘list’.

It’s essier to get an “A” from the health inspector than it is to fail. You don’t have to bribe anyone, just clean your restaurant daily, do routine maintenance, and understand food safety. Even if they’re not Serv Safe certified you can google. Most is common sense tbh
The most common violators are your non English speaking restaurants, which I can somewhat understand. Having been in the kitchen of Mexican or Asian restaurants, these people are clueless. I’ve seem roach infestations and things like raw chicken just sitting out. Pretty offfensive shite
If you’re an American owned restaurant with critical violations you are a dumbass and don’t deserve to operate a restaurant

Aww man CHINESE TEA GARDEN 40 Critical Violations
I used to go there and it was good. Had the best lunch specials. There was no way you could eat all the lunch..half at most.

I went to go look at the kitchen of a Mexican place in BR this week that the landlord said just “needed a few repairs”...it was appalling
I needed a shower after just a few minutes in there
