NOLA Restaurant Recommendation

Have a group of friends coming in from out of town for Mardi Gras and we are staying at the Sheraton off of Canal from March 4 (Friday) until March 7 (Monday). There will be 8 of us total and are looking for a nice place to eat Friday night since we will be watching the parades Saturday and Sunday night. Here's the criteria:
1) We have some money, but aren't made of it. Would like a nice place that doesn't break the bank too much. Maybe something like $30 for an entree type of place.
2) Within walking distance of the hotel.
3) Nothing too fancy, but nice at the same time.
4) Great food that they will remember when they think of NOLA.
I'm thinking of Mr. B's, but am open to other suggestions.

Mr B's is not a bad choice at all.
Look at the Pelican Club too.

I would probably avoid restaurants on Canal St (Palace Cafe) since there are 3 Uptown parades that Friday night that all end close to the Sheraton.

Muriel's is right at Jackson Square and fits your description of food and cost. Check out their website.
Wherever you're going, make reservations soon and expect that you may still have to wait.

I think that'd be a good one for a group that size. You won't stick out if you're drunk and loud.
If you want a real "Louisiana" experience look at K Paul's.
A new place that I like is Sylvain. Here's their menu. Good outdoor dining, too.

Check out Mothers...it is not fancy at all but is memorable.
Its right behind HArrahs so very walkable from your hotel.
