We want to get him the best food in NOLA. I've come here for suggestions

I would say Commanders Palace for the best food. Antoine’s, Galatoires, Arnauds would all give a unique experience as well.

Man that is a really tough call since London is such a great food city. Quick question, are you going to be guiding? Or just passing along recommendations that they can follow by themselves?
For starters, I would probably not recommend anything ethnic as that they have better in London, save for maybe a trip to NOLA East or West Bank for Vietnamese.
I do think a trip to a classic New Orleans spot is in order. But if they are going solo, those places can be hit or miss without a guide. Arnold's or Galatoire's would be my picks. Avoid Antoine's, save for the bar.
Think they could put together a really good itinerary otherwise by going with some of the "newer" Classics on the fine dining side: Clancy's, Gautreau's, Herbsaint, La Petite Grocery, Patois, Coquette (in decreasing order of age, IIRC). Personally, I prefer Herbsaint for lunch and a seat at the bar at La Petite for a dinner/drink. Coquette on Sunday brunch for fried chicken is a great option.
Other spots worth checking out would suggest Peche, Compere Lapin, High Hat, which offers a good mix and range of foods, dining options, and budgets.
Probably need some boiled seafood/po boy option in there and think Bevi Seafood hits the bill (they can take streetcar from Downtown, stop, and then continue on to say NOMA). While they are down that way could make a nice little run back downtown, by going to Blue Oak for happy hour, Toups for some bourbon and a few small plates, and then hit up Frey for dessert or more snacking.
But probably plenty of spots leaving off. How long are they in for?

Excellent breakdown. I would do a few uniquely NOLA spots and things he can't get in London, which has a world class ethnic food scene.
I would do Commander's Palace for sure, for the experience.
Bevi Seafood for boiled seafood for sure.
Get some Poboys at Parkway or Domilise.
Peche.
Brunch at Atchafalaya on the weekend for their jazz brunch.
Definitely get some raw oysters somewhere, maybe at Luke for the happy hour.
Cafe du Monde for some beignets for the experience.
An evening at Bacchanal for wine and music.
