Wendy’s is garbage, how is it even in the debate. Popeyes and Chick Fil A are tied for me. Like both for different reasons.

The problem with Popeyes is you have to get them from a Popeyes. The Popeyes in Chattanooga are all disgusting and take two years to get your food. CFA here is extremely clean and knows how to get you out of their restaurant. I give CFA the win in Chatt.

Don't compare the breast on the Popeye's sandwich to their tenders. To me, it's like the tenders don't even come from the same place as the fried chicken or the sandwich

Yeah, it's closer to the boneless wings they sell. Those are pretty good compared to the tenders.

He says the Popeyes is spicy from the batter being spiced. Its in the mayo you hack

Well actually... All y’all are wrong. Popeyes puts the spices on the raw chicken BEFORE it is battered. It’s one of the “House Secrets”.

It is done one of two ways. Old school way was to load the raw chicken into a bus pan, pour the spice pack that comes from Corporate over the chicken, put the top on the bus pan and shake the hell out of it. Or use the tumbler machine. Which was a big arse stainless drum machine that tumbles the chicken and spices like a slow clothes dryer.*

*Source for this info. I worked at the Popeyes in Covington for a hot minute when I was in high school. I was a poor kid and needed money to get to LSU. My primary job was at Beau Chene running the driving range and I worked the morning shift. That left my evenings open so I took the Popeyes job so I could get some evening work hours as well. That location had burned down the year before and just been rebuilt as the showcase store of the time. They were trying all kinds of new tech, like the tumbler machine, which is why I have no idea if those machines exist today or if they are still just tossing the chicken by hand. Honestly, it was interesting looking back at how they would bring in a new machine or process and have us do it the traditional way and the new way side by side while they timed and assessed the processes. Actually learned a lot from that job about how to run a business and implement new practices.
