I'm in the market for a new cooking set for the kitchen. I'm willing to spend more money for the best quality set. What are your recommendations?

Go to restaurant depot or supply store and piece it all together.

Like pots and pans? If so, you can't go wrong with All Clad. All my stuff is either All Clad or Le Creuset.

I started a thread for Finex - high end cast iron - in anther thread . If you're willing to spend money, this stuff is top notch. Finex is pretty expensive, compared to Lodge, but the look and quality are better. If considering the Le Creuset for a Dutch oven, then look at Finex - you could actually save a few bucks.

Don’t buy a set in my opinion. I was in your position last year. Decided i was going to seriously upgrade my kitchen. Started with a New set of Wustof Classic knives. Then bought the following pots throughout the next few months. If you are patient, scour deals between cutlery and more, Williams Sonoma, sur la table, Marshall’s and TJ Maxx. There are great deals to be had. Be patient.

All clad 7” and 11” French skillet
All clad 10” and 12” non stick skillet
All clad 10” fry pan with lid
All clad 4qt everyday pan
All clad 6 qt everyday pan (these are deep pans with a lid)
All clad copper core 4 qt sauté
All clad 2 and 3 qt sauce pot
All clad 8 qt stock pot

Staub 3.75 Dutch oven (curved bottom)
Staub 3.5 braiser
Staub 4 qt Dutch oven
Staub 5.5 qt Dutch oven
Lecreuset 7.25 Dutch oven
Staub wide 6qt Dutch oven

Some of mine overlap a bit, but I use then all for different things. In addition, i got a vita mix, food processor and an immersion blender. I’m having more fun than ever cooking. I don’t feel like I wasted a dollar buying all this kitchen stuff. With 2020 keeping us at the house, it was perfect and will serve me the rest of my life. I would also recommend a lodge cast iron skillet or two as well. I use mine on my grills outside and in my oven. Here is a video I have from my recent move.

If you're in Baton Rouge, the William Sonoma in the mall is going out of business and when I was there last weekend they had a ton of All Clad pots and pans on sale 30% off, as well as a bunch of Staub, Le Creuset and other nice cookware. Not sure what, if anything, is left, but may be worth going and checking it out.

I just bought the Great Jones family style set and I love it. It isn’t the most expensive, but the quality is good.
