Been eating a lot of broc out of the garden last few weeks and my energy level is thru the roof lately. Didn't realize it also good for detox. Figured a few of you might be interested in this info.

Broccoli has a strong, positive impact on our body's detoxification system, and researchers have recently identified one of the key reasons for this detox benefit. Glucoraphanin, gluconasturtiian, and glucobrassicin are 3 glucosinolate phytonutrients found in a special combination in broccoli. This dynamic trio is able to support all steps in body's detox process, including activation, neutralization, and elimination of unwanted contaminants. Isothiocyanates (ITCs) are the detox-regulating molecules made from broccoli's glucosinolates, and they help control the detox process at a genetic level.

It can also affect your thyroid if you eat it too often.

It is really interesting that most food is good for you and not so much in excess.
That said, how does one roast broccoli?

Cut head into pieces, drizzle with EVOO, kosher salt, fresh cracked black pepper & some garlic powder.
Put in 375-400 degree oven for 15-20 minutes

I can tell broccoli is detoxifying my body because after I eat it, the toxins are released in a putrid geyser of steam from my second lowest orifice.

I'll just leave this here.

If toxins did build up in a way your body couldn’t excrete, he says, you’d likely be dead or in need of serious medical intervention. “The healthy body has kidneys, a liver, skin, even lungs that are detoxifying as we speak,” he says. “There is no known way – certainly not through detox treatments – to make something that works perfectly well in a healthy body work better.”
Much of the sales patter revolves around “toxins”: poisonous substances that you ingest or inhale. But it’s not clear exactly what these toxins are.

I think the general idea is that eating healthy, giving the body what it needs, helps the body do what it does more efficiently.
I can attest from personal experience that juicing fruits and vegetables for a couple of weeks knocked out a skin rash, cleared my skin, gave me more energy, and improved my mental clarity.
