Cabbage Casserole
Ingredients:?1 lb.  Smoked Sausage?1 lb. Ground Meat?1 large head of cabbage?1 large onion?1 bell pepper?1 stalk of celery?3 garlic cloves?1 cup of rice?1 10 ¾ oz. can of tomato sauce
1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. In a large covered roaster, add cut up cabbage, sliced  Smoked Sausage, Ground Meat, onion, celery, bell pepper, garlic, rice, tomato sauce, and seasoning. Mix together.
3. Place in oven for approximately 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

Would you brown the meat, sausage, onion and pepper before placing in the oven or just do it exactly as written?

TIA.

Yes. Better flavor and you can get rid of the beef fat. Keep the sausage fat for flavor.

Brown it.

If that's the casserole I'm thinking of, it's going to come out very similar to rice dressing. If you put cheese on top, not so much.

Been wanting to try this one for a bit, probably this week. Adding sausage might be something as well?
