Mystery pie

I used to always think this was just an old, quirky family recipe. Now, at the ripe old age of 36 going on 70 I learned this is actually a real thing that other people make.

Does anyone else make this? What's your variation on the recipe? I'm toying with using candied pecans as the crushed nuts instead of plain pecans, but worried it will change the chemistry of the bake. Thoughts?

We called it cracker pie.

Grew up eating that pie. My mom got the recipe from the cooks at the college she attended.
