but there are enough bad reviews regarding measuring grams that it doesn’t seem like it’ll work for me.

Cooks illustrated recommends Oxo kitchen scale. It looks pretty legit, and their products are usually top knotch. That's what I'm tempted to buy in the near future.
I currently have a white Taylor glass top scale I bought from Costco. And it's a piece of shite. I've noticed big problems when making pizza dough. Now, I only use it for the flour, water and oil. I'll use my weed scale to measure things like yeast, weighted to the tenth.
Here's what cook's said.
Edit: I was gonna wait for my scale to fail, before buying the Oxo. But that Ozeri Pronto s under $12, and performed in par for accuracy with the Oxo, except $38 cheaper. I may buy that today. Because my Taylor scale is too big and is a pain in the arse. Get the Ozeri.

Get a jeweler’s scale. It’s what I use for measuring out my yeast for pizza dough

Not a great look to have something on the scale and it reading all zeros
That was my exact thought when looking at that also.
