Looked it up I'm guessing the #5 is the one to order. The sandwiches look like a buck more hopefully that's a good thing. I don't want a Magasin rip off Banh Mi.

VOR- looks like the weekend afternoon craft cocktails have returned to the vous.

Never had thr Magasin banh mi, so I can not compare. The 5 is the dac biet, which has 3 kinds of pork: meatballs, shredded, and some "ham." The other sandwiches have 1 or 2 of these. The 5 is pretty stuffed.

It's got the cucumber, carrots, whatever, but the pork is the player. She has a nice spicy sauce if you ask for spicy. If you like it, you can ask for "two spicy" etc., but be wary.

I'll try a picture next time I go... Maybe tomorrow.

I stop at Pho Bang in NOLA East on the way in...I doubt any place can touch what they sling out of that kitchen.

I didn't like the meat to bread ratio which is why I get the deli special instead of the chicken, pork, ect

I'll have to try that. I normally order the deli meat style sandwich when I'm at the subway Banh Mi's of the world and not a restaurant.

Never said they were bad. They are two different type sandwiches IMO.

Where is Chinatown grocery ? Is this the new place in Metairie ?

Sure it's trendiness is out of control but that's not pho's fault.

Just jump ahead of the curve and dive into the bun bo hue with the rau ram, blood cake and all!

Bun bo hue is not available at all the trendy spots. The ones that have it aren't that great.

For those complaining about lack of meat, realize these sandwiches cost between $3.50-$5. Still a deal

Not sure if intentionally directed at me, don't think I mentioned value at all.

Actually, friend ordered one at Mint sunday. It was $5 and I thought it was substantial.

That's pretty much the going rate. I'd pay $2 if they put the proper amount of meats.
