Lester what is this all about? That thread was already derailed. Everytime we are in there it’s pretty crowded and the bar does well. I would not think it’s a revenue issue.

The rumor going around is that it is unofficially for sale. When you put up a sign like that, it gets around really, really quickly.

Just me guessing, but I assume this is because of the "new restaurant disease". It's a tried and true recipe for failure. Have successful restaurant. Sous chef wants their own place so you back them under your name. Choose the worst possible location you can find. Watch your flagship falter. Rinse. Repeat.

Umm, Spicer backed Link at Herbsaint, and eventually sold her share. So it’s not as though her second projects are failures.

Totally fair, difference is that Herbsaint isn't located on a railroad track buried deep in a low density neighborhood. Oh and also, it was Donald Link.

I love the downvotes, that's awesome. Just trying to answer OP question. Take it or leave it.

That's Rosedale.

I've always been underwhelmed by Mondo.

It seems like Spicer has done a poor job marketing her restaurants. I never hear anything about Rosedale and I have been really happy with it for a neighborhood restaurant.

What? How is Harrison Avenue “low density”?

Was referring to Rosedale not Mondo.

Worked out okay for her with Herbsaint.

Mondo is Spicer's flagship? That's news.

I find your posts very confusing. Mondo isn't located near an RR track. That's Rosedale which isn't closing or for sale, right? Not sure what Rosedale has to do with the OP's question.

Then, you talk about the flagship restaurant going down. That would be Bayona, correct? I haven't heard it's failing either.

I think you're confused.

He's saying opening up and focusing attention a new restaurant (Rosedale) has caused the "flagship" (Mondo) to falter.

But anyone with an opinion worth reading knows that Mondo isn't the flagship

Ok. There is legs to this whether he named the right flagship restaurant or not

Spicer is also opening a Mondo in the new airport terminal

I’ll speak more slowly and deliberately next time. How about this?

Mondo is for sale. Rosedale is a disaster.

Better?

I have been to Rosedale once and cannot find any reason to ever find it again on the map.
