I’ve killed all the $15 Educated Guess bottles, time to get after the good stuff. Anybody else going into their “A” list wine?

Went this past December to Del Dotto. I wasn’t very impressed with their wine.

I have some Hawkes I had shipped in before I got busted. I’ve been saving it for a rainy day. That will probably be this weekend.

The lovely Kim Jong gifted us a bottle of 2015 Quilceda Creek cabernet which will be opened this weekend for SO's birthday.

I've been drinking yummy stuff though. Asked 3Tails to curate me 4 red wines at ~$30 per, and they made some awesome selections for me.

It’s 15.86 a bottle at Costco here.

Speaking of Del Dotto - I have this one sitting in my pantry waiting to open this weekend

ETA: My Aunt is a Del Dotto VIP member so she hooked me up.

When my wife and I were in Napa and Sonoma several years ago we were approached at each tasting room and vineyard about having wine shipped to us. Once they found out we were from MS, they obviously said that they couldn't do it... except Hawkes. They had no problem with it. So for several years we would get a case of wine shipped every quarter.

Last year either the MS ABC or DOR caught wind that people were having wine shipped into the state from some places and sent those places notices to not do it anymore. Thus, no more California wine direct from California.

I guess it would be more appropriate to say that Hawkes got busted, not me. But the result is still the same.

Total BS! (The laws preventing the shipping, not your story.)

It sucks. But now that I'm free of using one winery, I might start having wine shipped to family in Missouri and picking it up during holidays. I've always wanted to get some Frog's Leap shipped.
