Friend,

I would like to share with you TulaneLSU’s Top 10 burgers of Metairie. Keep in mind I haven’t had a Vets Whole Foods burger in years and it was not in the same realm as the one in Magazine.

10. Swamp Burger (to go only)
9. Bud’s Broiler
8. Ben’s Burgers
7. Mooyah
6. Atomic
5. Bears Poorboys
4. New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Company
3. The Boulevard
2. Desi Vega in the big building
1. Ground Pati

I ended up at Atomic, mainly bc you can get the specialty burgers in slider form. Garlic aioli for the fries, too. NB, don’t eat garlic aioli then wear a mask . Whew.

I’d go to Atomic more often if I could get a half milkshake. I always ask, and they always tell me know. My highly lactose intolerant spouse can’t share. I hate throwing out half.

If you like thick gourmet hamburgers go to the Cheesecake Factory. Outstanding burgers. If you like thin patties Atomic burger. If you want to visit a bar go to Oscars, though they do allow smoking inside.

AB is awesome but I get the spicy ketchup.

For the style, Ben’s does a very good job too.

Wanted to get that on the record.

You could do better taking a shite between two pieces of white bread than that frozen piece of shite burger.

Friend,

I presume you haven’t had a NOHSC since ownership changed about a decade ago. While I miss the old potato bar with cheese and toppings galore, what they sacrificed there was more than overcome by the increased quality of the freshly ground chuck beef. The top three on my top ten is unassailable and arguably the top three burgers in the city. The only argument I would entertain would come from Houston’s.

Friend,

Once you return from Portofino Tower 3, perhaps floor 6, I would like you to try Ground Pati’s on Power, The Boulevard, and Vega Desi, the restaurant, not the burger joint. I think you will come to find that these three restaurants serve three of the best burgers in the Metro.

Friend,

LINK / and if you look at the address you will see this is the Heritage Plaza location in lovely Metairie.

Uncle will be there, different tower, this weekend. I will send him your way to say hello. He also does not drink alcohol.

How does "Oscar's" on Metairie Rd. stack up now?

It's been years since I've had a burger from there, but at one time they held their own against most any place in the local area.

My go-to place in N.O. is close to my house and that is "Beachcorner Bar & Grill" on Canal St. by the cemeteries.

I mentioned it and received eleven downvotes, so I’m thinking people don’t like it anymore. Or I could be that I suggested the Cheesecake Factory. Again, if you like a thick gourmet burgers it’s one of the best in Metairie. Most of the people who are downvoting probably have never even had a burger from there!

Also, TulaneLSU has a good list, all three of those places make great burgers! I don’t like New Orleans hamburger and seafood! Never have!

As an outsider living in Tennessee I can only judge by the website and based on the website Bud’s Broiler wins hands down.

Best looking burgers I have ever seen. They look incredible and the chili they put on their dogs and fries looks pretty damn good also.

Prices are great also.

Mooyah looks great but I would probably get that diablo dog. That looks delicious! I love Hebrew National.
