If you go to BB King's just get a cheese burger and fried pickles.

My experience there to a T
Rendezvous is what it is...a tourist trap. it's very hit and miss. Sometimes the ribs are great and sometimes they suck - it's likely the result of cranking out hundreds of racks a day. The rest of the experience is all about the ambiance and just enjoying being in a spot with some history. Personally, I don't mind going there and drinking some crappy keg beer and munching on the sausage/cheese plate. It's a good experience, but is nowhere near the top of my list when I'm looking for some good, quality memphis BBQ.

Places I would go again:
Payne's (for sandwich & fried pie-did not try ribs)
A&R (for sandwich, fried pie, ribs)
BBQ Shop (for sandwich-did not try ribs)
Central BBQ (for ribs-sandwich was OK, just not as good as others)
Cozy Corner (for Cornish hen-did not try sandwich-ribs were very tough)
Rendezvous (for ribs, although it is inconsistent)
Places I probably would not go again (unless I was in the neighborhood):
Interstate (sandwich & ribs were OK, but not as good as other places)
Neely's (sandwich was OK, but not as good as other places)

I have seven does in ice chests, getting ready to head to Pete Giovenco's Deer Depot in St Rose.

Where is this? I guess I mean, how far from Jackson? I love trying new processors and seeing what all they have different than others. There is a place in Clarksdale that does deer tamales that are probably the best tamales I've had, period.

Just outside NO. My buddy who is a member at Burks also has clubs in AR and GA where he hunts. He tries to send as much to this guy as possible.

This guy does as well. Check out him out. Gooogle Deer Depot in St Rose, LA. I have known him for along time.

Rendezvous is so mass produced that it is hit and miss - sometimes the ribs are great, sometimes they're shite (dry; no meat).
This was my experience as well. You had to time it right to get ribs fresh off the grill, or they would tend to be dried out. There were times we'd go to Rendezvous and the first rack would come out awful, then we'd have a few beers and wait. Then we'd get some fresh off the grill and they'd be the type you write home about.
The only reason to go to Corky's is for the hot rolls they serve. Actually, I used to work across the street from Corky's, and we'd drop in occasionally just for the convenience factor. Their ribs are okay, just not as good as some others.
