Assuming you mean Memorial City Houston, like around City Centre.

Sal y Pimienta is good non-chain South American place.

I like General Public for drinks.

You got plenty of steakhouse options between the chains and then Taste of Texas.

Kirby Ice House another good spot for drinks.

Expand your search a few minutes north into Spring Branch and you'll get much better food.

Mia’s has one of the best burgers in Houston.

Chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy is also very fricking strong.

Goode Company Seafood or Goode Company Cantina.

I second goode company cantina. Caliente is a good mexican place as well
