A friend of mine gave this to me. It was a gift from a grocer client of his and he was never told what it was. The stamps you see are the only words anywhere on the package. Any chance this is Vacio?

Kind of looks Christopher Moltisanti visited Satriale's late at night and cut up a body, shrink wrapped it and parceled it out to unsuspecting dupes.
It might be Vacio, but it could also be Vinny the Bat or Johnny Blanks.

There is a reason he wasn't told what it was. I'd be real afraid it isn't beef. Best result, maybe it's horse.
I wonder if the term "gift" maybe should be interpreted as "warning".

Make barbacoa with it
That's what I do with all the mystery meats from the bottom of my freezer

Looks freezer burned in several areas. Turtle trap bait.

Cook it down in a gravy with onions and eat over rice. Will be good.

I opened it this morning. It was a pack of 6 largish chunks. The meat looked very muscular and lean and not something that should be smoked, but I had the smoker up and running already, so three chunks went in directly under a Boston Butt. I will place them in a sealed pan later to braise.
The other 3 went back in the fridge. I'll probably cook one down in a gravy, and the rest will go in my Instant pot with various peppers and onions.

I agree with some others. Looks like either horse meat or the remains of a cartel victim.

The silver skin wasn't consistent with human cuts. Not sure about horse.

This stuff shredded and looked like the equivalent of pulled pork even though the raw meat looked nothing like shoulder. So good.
