We are going there next week. Has anyone here been and can give some insight into what to expect (other than the high bill)?

I recommend sitting at the bar if you can. Getting to watch Masa work is a treat. It's incredible sushi. Extra incredible nigiri. I'm in Japan often and the nigiri is up there with the best of them. However, get ready to open your wallet and dump it out. It's a $2000 meal with drinks if you're doing it right. Enjoy

Good to hear.
Yep. I’m already $1500 into it when I made the reservation through Tock. I’m expecting for drop another $900 with beverage pairing and tax. It’s the last of the 3 Michelin star restaurants in NYC that we have to do.

I've eaten a lot of very expensive meals, including omakase in Japan and elsewhere, and my first reaction to this was "surely fricking not..."
I was fricking wrong

Are you spending your own money? What do you do for a living?
