I hear good things, but I went to the one by LSU when it was still there and they didn't offer an oyster poboy anywhere on the menu. No oyster poboy at a poboy and seafood shop is a flop for me, so I left. I hear the current location has them though.
Hear good things about the boudin balls.

Never been but just ask for samples if you go. No risk involved

Mehhhh
I guess it's because it's easy to hand over one or a few crawfish. You can't ask for samples of a steak or lasagna. I don't see anything wrong with it if you aren't just looking for a free meal like the Tonys peeps.
After wasting 60$ I will def ask for one (a crawfish) before I buy again at a new place.

I ordered some from sammys on highland Friday to go and was actually surprised on how good they were and a nice size. Also find montablanos on Florida really good but they close early. I have been wanting to check out tramonties as well, oh and city pork on Perkins has some huge ones and are seasoned pretty well.

Even Parkway in New Orleans, possibly the most famous poboy shop on earth, only has oyster poboys on Mon and Wed. They are traditionally such a seasonal item I can see how they wouldn't be on a regular menu. For them to not offer them ever, even as a special, is really weird though.
