Marinated Fried Catfish: What is it?

A NPR reporter was interviewing a flood victim in Louisiana the other day.
They started talking about how good his marinated fried catfish was.
I was curious, so I looked up recipes for marinated fried catfish on google.
There were lots of recipes for it on the web, but no 2 were even remotely similar.
I think it is catfish marinated in buttermilk and hot sauce and rolled in seasoned fine corn meal before frying.
Maybe you all know what it really is supposed to be.

I always do mustard, beer and hotsauce for about 6-18 hrs beforehand. Really good.
