I have made it like that. I wanted to be authentic, but I just keep coming back to my recipe.
Always on the rocks, and crushed ice if I have it. I also use lime on the rim for the salt…

1 can frozen limeaid, dump in blender

2/3 of limeaid can filled with triple sec or cointreau, dump in blender

3/4 of limeaid can filled with tequila, dump in blender

1 1/2 trays of ice, dump in blender

handful of blue berries or strawberries, dump in blender, or not

Puree in blender (vita mix works great)
