make your own frozen margaritas...

Not gonna lie...I know nothing about alcohol/alcoholic drinks...I'm a beer drinker.
I love Zippys top shelf frozen margaritas...so I wanted to recreate some at my house for myself and my wife.
I bought some margarita base (no sugar) and some Jose Cuervo Gold. Put in some ice...blended it...and tasted it. It was good...but not nearly the same as a good one from a restaurant.
Does anyone have a 'recipe' for a good ole' frozen margarita?

I'm not big on them but my wife made a batch the other day with fresh white peaches, peach purée and Patron Silver.
Blew the top of my head off.

Pour a can of limeade in a blender then fill the empty can up halfway with triple sec and pour that in the blender, then fill the can up all the way with pretty cheap tequila and pour that in the blender. Fill the blender up the rest of the way with ice then blend.

Absolutely correct. As good as any "frozen margarita" can be. Although if you're a baller you can use Cointreau instead of Triple Sec.

Sounds good...thanks.

The above stated frozen limeade concentrate margarita is enhanced by the addition of a small amount of beer.

Grand Marnier doesn't hurt either.

It's not a drink, but a good margarita popsicle is made out of a can of frozen margarita mix (like those cans of frozen lemonade), a can of water, then about a cup of tequila and some triple sec.
My measurements are not precise because when I watched this being made I was blitzed.

If you want a bad arse frozen Marg, use a pretty decent Tequila, and Cointreau or Grand Marnier.
A lot of people think it's wasteful to use a good tequila in a Margarita, but if it tastes that much better I think it's worth it. You really don't need half orange liquor to tequila(Cointreau or GM) you only need about 1 part orange to 3 part tequila.
But the limeade is the best way to do it that I've seen, it's easy and tastes damn good.
Cuervo Gold is a pretty good tequila for this type of thing imo.
