Their beer menu doesn't look too shabby. They don't have any BMC on any of their 30 taps, so I can respect that.
they could do lot better with those 30 taps but that is a good start. I rather sell BMC then have something swithwicks collect dust

I stopped by this place over the weekend and it is definitely going to be a bar, not restaurant. They have a good beer selection so that is nice. We tried the Tiger's Blood drink or whatever and that stuff could be dangerous. Didn't taste strong at all but I think it had tequila, rum, and vodka in it? I can't quite remember.
I asked to see a kitchen menu but they said they are still putting it together. He told me that it was mainly going to be basic bar food, burgers and sandwiches and the like. They also had a shuffleboard table and a skee ball machine.
They also still had the big screen projector from Reginelli's so hopefully that could become a decent spot to watch games.

Nah. Can't have smoking and serve food in BR. Probably just friends/family at soft opening.
That's not true. The distinction is: If you gain more revenue from drinks than food, you can allow smoking.
Disappointing news, though. It'll only attract trashy college kids/weird adults that never grew up.
ETA: Pelican House is still the best bar around, imo.

How so? Most bars allow smoking here. The location is what I'm more worried about. Hopefully it can pull a different crowd than Slinky's and the Library or whatever their names are now.

Okay, now I see you're a troll. DAMNIT, I shouldn't have responded about Ballsack.

it's a pub so it's not surprising
Nah. Finn's did it voluntarily before the NOLA smoking ban. Much better now.
Will they open at 6:30 for EPL matches is the real question.

I know they made mention of doing that for their Tiger Blood drink on gameday

Yep, we dropped in last week. People were smoking.
Well I'll scratch it off my potential list.

But you said the Tigers Blood wasn't all that great?
Posted on 7/28/15 at 6:57 pm to JBeam
It wasn't bad. I only had a sip of it. I just said it was dangerous because it didn't seem too strong but they said there was 3 different types of liquor in it or something like that. If geauxpack finds this thread he'll know.

So were people smoking? Have we confirmed they allow smoking?
Posted on 7/28/15 at 8:14 pm to MiloDanglers
We were pretty much the only people there, but there were ash trays on the tables

I gotcha. My tailgate always has a few people who aren't big beer drinks. So, with the absence of Serrano's. It would be nice to direct them somewhere to pick up specialty drinks.

I imagine they will and I think they told my friend something along those lines.
I'm also interested to see what Barcadia will do on gamedays. I think they said before that their plan is to have a band just like Serrano's did.

Doubtful. This place sounds less and less Irish with each post.

We found out that Reginelli's had a margarita last year and let me tell you, it was strong. Our entire tailgate was really sad to see Reginelli's go for that reason only. They really should have advertised that drink more, because they could have sold a lot of them. At least they see the market is there because they're pumping up this Tiger Fuel or whatever. Just heard them talk about it in a radio ad.
