Rama... Thai Pepper... Maison Lacour... Delpit's Chicken Shack... VooDoo BBQ... there aren't too many places in BR that I go out of my way for, to be honest.

Good stuff, just make sure you know where the closest bathroom is on your way home.

They catered a work dinner recently, so tried it all. This was the best of their offerings (pretty good actually)

Harrington's downtown is a good little place with food for about 8 bucks. I think it may only be open for lunch but their specials are generally pretty legit.

Took my little girl to Brunet's today for lunch, which is one of her favorites. I wasn't expecting much. We ordered some fried crab fingers, chicken and sausage gumbo (for her), and I had the shrimp fettucini which came with green salad and potato salad. I also ordered a stuffed avocado with fried okra to bring home for my wife. All in all, it was a pretty good meal, better than I expected. The fettucine wasn't a traditional fettucine; it was fettucine noodles with shrimp, seasonings, and a rich Velveeta cheese sauce. It wasn't bad, though. They have some decent lunch specials, but the dinner menu seems a little overpriced. That place also needs some updating... it's looking really run-down.

Its not what it once was before the dad let the kids take it over. The Catfish topped with Etouffe is solid and the Bread Pudding is among the best around. I think its Monday nite, not sure, but the Seafood Platter is like $12 which is a very good deal, among other specials...........
