Anyone know where I can find locally grown garlic in the Baton Rouge or New Orleans area?

I don't think garlic is something that is easy to grow here? Correct me if I am wrong

You can plant a pod in your garden and you will have enough garlic for the rest of your life.

We've gotten it the last couple of years in Moreauville at WesMar Farms.. I'm a huge fan of their garlic because the cloves are large.. Only about 4 or 5 to a head and the papery skins are very thin.
It's produced in the warm summer months and most distributors only ship out when it's fresh around that date.. There are suppliers on Amazon and a number of independents, mostly in California.. but none is better than what I've picked up in Moreauville.

It takes a long time to get started, but they will be there forever.

Seems similar to asparagus in that regard.

Hollygrove Farmers market has it in season. Usually the fall.
