If you've ever wondered what it's like to work as a professional cook, and you've never read Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain, watch this short video. The video is HEYYEYAAEYAAAEYAEYAA

Fridays, Saturdays, football games, baseball games, concerts, etc. Missing out on good times. It's part of the profession. I found 1:53 to be hilarious because that image of being in the kitchen cooking while everyone else in the world is out having fun struck me as true and very accurate.

Oh, ok. I turned it off at about the 1:30 mark and wrote it off as a minute and a half of my life that I'll never have back.

When the shite hits the fan picture you and your coworkers snorting massive amounts of drugs in the walk-in coolers. The buzz in your head stops around three am.

I thought it was common knowledge most successful chefs don't have much of a social life

I couldn't imagine owninga restaurant and being there 20 hrs a day. And that's why I don't own one. Cooking is my second favorite thing to do behind running
