How do you get the cheese naan?

They have regular Naan, garlic, cheese and maybe 1 more. The best naan I've had.
I'll try and get an update on the buffet. Hopefully he offers some dishes off the menu...

I saw that there is another Indian restaurant opening on George O' Neal, where the old Pizza Hut used to be across from George's.

Too bad he didn't want to open up in NOLA

Think he was going to open a Food Truck but didn't want to fight Lucky Dog and Teddie Brennan.

Trolling the Food Truck thread, not here. I've been trying to get to Curry N Kabob but I ride by and look and get a bit scared.

The other thread is entertaining though.

Really enjoy the lunch offering.
Mostly thanks to , yes, Degas.

I'm pretty inexperienced with Indian food but I went last night to give it a shot.

First, the owner and I guess his daughter were nice as can be. Recommendations, asking if everything was ok etc...

The buffet was only supposed to come with one type of naan but they made sure we tried the plain, garlic, and sesame seed. All were good but the garlic was exceptional and the sesame seed was close behind.

As for my food, I tried the chicken curry and another type of chicken dish that was sort of spicy in a dark yellowish color. Both were really good with the rice they had on the buffet.

The owner was adamant we try the dessert. It was a sweet rice pudding or sorts. About the same consistency as grits. Not bad but definitely different.

Overall, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed my food. I'll go back.

You have no idea how much that elates me, to turn people on to great non-commercial food and have them love it.

Around that same location, Ronnie's Ribs and Montana's deserved a far better fate than having to close their doors. It absolutely pained me to be sometimes the only diner in Ronnie's Ribs supping on some of the most delicious food in the city, when outside the window I would see cars wrapped around the entire building of Burger King, waiting over twenty minutes for a burger and fries.

It's great to see a restaurant with quality service and food to get the recognition it deserves since it's so very tough these days to be the little guy going up against the marketing of McD's and Chlli's that make people flock like sheep to them. Just ask Jason here how tough it can be, because his establishment was an absolute gem.

I hear ya, and to be honest, this prevented me from trying it sooner. For me it was mostly because it's the exact same building which used to house one of the worst "restaurants" in the history of Baton Rouge, which was Cupid's (and the fact that the first time I intended on trying CnK, I walked up to a locked door with a hand written paper sign on the door stating that they were closed due to kitchen problems, which really sounded suspect.) Ironically, it was another poster here who implored me to give it a go.

I'm glad to see and hear the appreciation for CnK. They definitely deserve it.

I know middle-aged people who have never tried Indian food. I guess there is some sort of weird stigma attached to it.

But anyone who enjoys the heat of the Cajun cuisine should have an affinity for the bold flavors of Indian food.

My regret is that I didn't try the lobster dish before it was 86'd. Someone posted a pic here which looked absolutely delectable for fifteen bucks.

Please give us a full report.
