Lee's Diner in Hammond. '50s motif. Anyone been there, thoughts?

Not remotely special. Would rather go to about five Hammond restaurants. Eddies across the street however...

Very meh but they stay busy. Have heard the breakfasts are good but never tried.
As far as lunch, burgers and sandwiches are decent. They do a daily lunch special three days a week - lasagna on Thursdays, and catfish topped with crawfish etouffee on Fridays - those are a few notches better than the menu items, but then they will pair the special with a side item like canned corn.
The worst thing about it is the tables are way too close together. Also as soon as you open the door because there's no waiting area, you're right in front of someone's table watching them eat.
Definitely better options in Hammond.

go there once every two weeks for their breakfast..the omelettes are very good but if you want a big breakfast definitely enough for two people get the slam dunk (two eggs, grits or hash browns, toast or biscuit, a sampling of ham, bacon and sausage, French toast and pancakes all for like $10)
Their salads are also big and good!

Funny. I ate at Tope La today for lunch. Went by Lee's on my way home and it was a madhouse. They print money

I don't understand how all these uppity mfers don't like Lee's. It's a great breakfast/lunch spot.
I am curious if anybody has tried Jeanies down the road

Crispy chicken pasta salad and the strawberry shake are what you need to go there for.
