So you're the guy who brings a tupperware of carrots and hummus to the pool

I love chips, if I have a diet weakness it's chips. I'm just stating a fact. I do like the non potato slurry ones better because they are better.

Carrots and hummus is underrated though...

I put my family to the taste test this afternoon.

Sour Cream and onion Pringles and Stax.

Unanimous agreement, the Pringles had more flavor than the stax. So the OP is wrong about that point.

I preferred the Stax, my wife and kid preferred the Pringle.

Doing a nutritional information breakdown, the Stax are slightly less unhealthy than the Pringles, coming in at half the amount of saturated fat.

Not the biggest chip eater but what were the reasons? Seasoning, chip integrity, etc?

I bought a few to do a taste test on an upcoming beach trip. Seems easy enough to get solid feedback after a sandwich. You can't do a blind test because it's very apparent which one is which.

My wife administered the test. My son and I had our eyes closed and she put them in our mouths. Her own taste test wasn't blind, but ours were.

The crunch/texture was not too different. More or less the same mouthfeel, we all agreed, despite their different look.

As I said above, the flavor of the Pringle was much stronger than on the Stax. When I guessed the Stax was the Pringle and vice versa, and my wife told me I was wrong, I thought she was messing with me. So of course we eat more, not blind, and sure enough, the Pringle had much more flavor than the Stax. However, I still preferred the Stax, and its lighter flavor. Wife and kid preferred the Pringle.
