Glad to see this thread. Leaving tomorrow for the MGM Grand. What's good near the Mirage ? We are seeing Cirque du Soleil @ 9:30.

I've gone to Vegas 4 times now for conferences and vendors love to take you to Steakhouses...STK, Cut, Prime, Delmonico, and Carnevino were all great

I also agree with the Alize recommendation. It's not a steak house and it's off the strip, but it is a cool place.

Which Cirque Du Soleil? Love?

Mirage has some decent places, but nothing that great. I would go somewhere is Cesar's or Venetian/Palazzo. Cut, Delmonico and Carnevino are all in the Palazzo. Mesa in Cesar's is pretty good and it's a Bobby Flay restaurant.

There's a sushi place in the heart of Mirage that's good for appetizer's and drinks, but I can't think of the name.

Not sure how old you are, but if you're in to the club scene 1 Oak in Mirage is a pretty cool club and fairly easy to get into.

Yes. We have to pick up our show tickets by 5:30 but the show is not till 9:30. Thought we'd do dinner near there instead of going back to MGM. Doesn't have to be anything fancy.

Oh, and I was a teenager when the Beatles hit it big, fwiw.

In that case, just hit the buffet and call it a night...

j/k

That's a ton of time. Personally I would go to Palazzo or Cesar's and do something nice. If you're not into that...Stack, Japonais and the Brazilian Steakhouse in Mirage will probably be good. You'll still have a couple hours to waste though.

BLT Burger near the entrance to the strip is decent. Avoid the CPK by the sports book. Rhum Bar is nice for cocktails and after it cools off a bit it's a nice patio to hang out on for drinks.

Also, if you ordered the tickets through the Beatle's Love website, you should be able to pick the tickets up at any MGM casino box office. I did that back in March, I ordered tickets to Love from my room at Monte Carlo and picked them up 10 minutes later at the Blue Man Group box office.

I've seen Love twice now, it's an amazing show. Take time to take in the visuals and just enjoy it. It's not the same as just listening to a bunch of Beatles records really loud. Some of the interpretations are kind of out there, but the stunts and skill of the performers is absolutely stunning. I'm heading back in July, I need to decide on a show that's not Love.

Mesa Grill is great

went to the Public House in the Venetian and it was good as well but very expensive for what you got.

the portions were very small. i remember getting the wings for an appetizer and it was 5 wings for $14.

Also got the pork belly appetizer for $14 and it was 2 or 3 small bacon like pieces.

bill was over 100 and i was still hungry

Vic & Anthony's, not walking distance though. My personal favorite is Tender @ Luxor.

I'm sure other places are great and the experience is awesome but the balcony view from the room that overlooks the fountains, as well as the location of the hotel can not be beat.

Exactly.

I still cannot believe they have balconies. I wonder how long before someone jumps or tries "trick fricking" and thrusts some girl over.

That's like walking into Best Buy and asking them what types of electronics they sell. Vegas is full of good restaurants.

The wife and I enjoyed B & B Ristorante at the Venetian. Try the octopus salad.

I know. I'm just tired of researching places and reading reviews. Y'all just tell me where to go.

Uh oh. We are planning a June trip as well.

Steakhouse.... There are entirely too many great ones in that town. It really depends on where you want to end up that night. My favorite at the moment is probably SW Steakhouse, plan it for the night you go to XS.

We have a crew. I'd say about 15-20, not including the people that will already be there for the WSOP events. I have absolutely no desire to do anything other than party this trip. Not even tempted by the WSOP, weird!
