La Fondas is mexican, and the food is mediocre. If you go, order then Don Briggs steak, its not on the menu.

Everyone goes because of the chips and dip and the margaritas (made with everclear). The place just has a really good atmosphere. You go, you'll have a good time.

The improvement in this place over the last couple years is nice to see. Its still an old almost neighborhood kinda place, but the food there is good!!

The menu at LaFonda is traditional Mexican.. The prices, like any Mexican restaurant are reasonable. I like the Carne Asada.. Does anybody know if Sherwood Cox owns the Lafayette restaurant? Just curious.. I know his dad, Lee Bob use to own it..

Thanks, Treedawg!

My mom's side of the family owns La Fonda in BR. I've definitely noticed the quality of the restaurant rise since new management also.
