Problem is in a gas station, they cook a huge arse batch that can sit under the heating lamp for hours and hours. But you did it right. Catch them from about 10:45-11:30am, they’ll be fresh and top tier of the fast food chicken world.

Yep. I’d put a fresh batch of KK up against any of the chains, Popeyes included. It’s just hard to time when that fresh batch is coming out since it varies by location

You need to hit up the Chevron just south of the interstate in Walker or the Exxon (On the Run) on Florida and/447 and try "Creole Chicken". To me that is better than KK.

The Chevron has boudin ball, grits, chicken, chicken tenders, meat pies, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits fresh and ready when i come through between 5:15-5:30.

The Exxon has some of that, but nothing like Chevron`s spread.

I don't think Popeyes can be beat when the stars align with fresh grease, fresh chicken, and your correct order, but that's probably 10% chance, which is a damn shame, especially since it's probably double the price of its competitors. They don't need to be CFA in terms of consistency and service, they just need to be Waffle House.

I would put Blue Store above Krispy Krunchy, then KK is probably the next best option when moderately fresh, big fall off after.

KFC is awful, Popingos now Chips had the worst chicken and sides I've ever had, they used to be really good. Can't remember the last time I had Church's. Leader's chicken on the bone is not worth getting, but the tenders and fish are solid.

but don't act like KK is better. KK is dry even when fresh out of the grease.

Its fantastic.

KK is very good bone-in fried chicken. Problem is since they’re typically in gas stations, a lot of places fry up huge batches then leave them sitting under those lights for hours.

KK tenders, when fresh, beat the shite out of bland arse Canes.

That's like saying tap water ran through a cheap fridge filter beats tap water out of the tap.

KK is good if you get it hot. The ownership is a different story.

I12 Livingston exit

Can confirm, although the Chevron at the Holden exit deserves mention. You can also buy a bong while you’re there. Very eclectic place
