Has anyone tried one of these before? specifically, does the coke taste like coke from the convenience store fountain?

I know Keurig sucks for coffee, so you can save those types responses for another thread. TIA

I like their coffee but I'm not a big coffee drinker anyway.

It was the anouncement that this was on the way that made stocks in SodaStream immediately take a dip, and why SodaStream went and partnered with Pepsi. The main complaint was that people wanted name brand soft drinks.

I think the Keurig's advantage (aside from Coke products) looks to be that it doesn't need a Co2 cartridge?

This is considerably more complex and expensive than a Sodastream. Reading the literature this seems incredibly expensive and time consuming way to get an 8 oz carbonated beverage. If I am reading this right, Amazon has a sampler pack of 4 pods, each pod makes one 8 oz drink, for $14.49. That's $3.63 for an 8 oz Diet Coke.

Good luck selling these.

That's what I thought, but since I'm old and easily confused read for yourself....

the time saved is not worth the money spent. Coffee is pretty easy to make really good via French press for fraction of the price. Plus when I drink coffee at home I am rarely making it for just one cup.

Keurig and others sell for about $5 / 4 (8 ounce) pods, but at $1.25 it's still too expensive for an 8 ounces. With that and the machine itself costing a few hundred dollars this is all a hard sell.

I have one and it is legit. And the Coke tastes just like a fountain Coke.

That's what I need to know. My wife loves fountain cokes but I'm tired of going to a filthy c-store or fast food place to get it for her. And I don't care what it costs.

I think my Christmas shopping is done.

The price for both the machine and the pods is insanely high. I have a sodastream, and can make a liter at a time. The syrup is about $7 for a bottle, and I think it has like 12-15 servings at a liter each. Bought a paintball CO2 tank and get it refilled for $3 at Dick's sporting goods, and after I fill it 4 times the 5th is free. Plus you can get a sodastream machine for about $60.
