If I don’t get BBQ, I hit Grunauer when I’m in KC. Fantastic Austrian/German restaurant downtown in Freight District. Great draft beers, schnitzel and strudel.

I'd put Oklahoma Joe's original in the gas station at #1, but you have to get there early. If you don't want to put the effort in, then go to Q39 which overall is probably better food as a chain. But the gas station Oklahoma Joe's is special.

I liked Jack Stack BBQ. Haven't tried some of the other places but haven't been disappointed yet.
