Why is it so much cheaper than every other seafood market on the gulf coast?

Super lump crab meat (back fins) 1lb for $25

Its a great place but do many seafood markets have that weird vibe. Have the employees are pretty nice, the other seem like my wife (mad at gravity).

Is there anywhere else on the Gulf Coast retail-wise that even comes close to them in volume? I suppose that plays a big part in locking in suppliers and keeping costs down.

Joe Patti's is a national treasure. Seeing them chunking whole fish on the dock in the back, and watching those Vietnamese women starting hacking them up is a sight to see. I just wish they wouldn't leave their shrimp soaking in water as opposed to keeping them on ice.

We really enjoyed the sushi bar there a couple of times.

I once caught a late night infomercial of theirs. They had a young niece or something hosting and fielding calls from viewers for one of the old owners. It was pretty entertaining as they talked about where, from all over the world, various items were caught.

It’s incredible. I’ll never not go by when I’m in the area. Hell we even went by when we were in Pcola for Ida Evac.

Love going in there seeing all that fresh seafood right off the boat. Best place and price for fresh lobster. The garlic spread on the freshly baked bread while shopping just tops it off!
