Did a search and did not see anything. Anyone have any suggestions? My hotel is next door to Dragos. Was hoping someone might have a hidden gem I don’t know about. It can be fine dining or a hole in the wall I just want some food that taste good. TIA

Thank you. Is that the same Cantina Laredo that is off Hwy 98 in Santa Rosa Beach, FL?

I went to downtown Jackson about once a month for work 10-15 years ago. My go-tos were Hal and Mal's and Keifer's Downtown.

Compared to the Mexican food in Mobile, AL that place seemed pretty decent to me. Not saying it’s a Ninfas on Navigation but compared to the garbage they serve up in Mobile for Mexican it was decent. Sure wish LSU was playing in Texas versus Mississippi.

It’s pretty good, but not worth the price IMO.

It started over here in Addison, but there’s so many better and cheaper places that it’s not worth going.

Lou’s is the underrated darling on Jackson. So good. A great night is grabbing dinner at lou’s (Don’t skip dessert!) and then drinks at the bar in Manship

Great suggestions as well

If you’re craving steak I’d add Ely’s and Shapley’s

As someone else mentioned Parlor Market is really good

I’d avoid Drago’s and county line in general—all chains. If you’ve got your SO with you I’d go down to Fondren and hit up babalu, pig and pint, or Saltine and bounce around some of the bars—barrelhouse, Fondren Public, apothecary (speakeasy in the back of brent’s drugs). Lou’s isn’t a far drive from that area either

Wynndale Steakhouse -- a little south of Jackson, but good.

Parlor Market -- fried chicken livers with pimento cheese and watermelon barbecue

I also love Mama Hamil's in Madison

If I remember right you live in the DFW area. And I’m sure that place is average at best out there. But by Mobile’s standards it’s far superior than what Alabama has to offer. This state just does not have good Mexican food whatsoever.

Yea, but I’d still go there. I love their salsas. And the mole enchiladas are bomb.

If you like Jamacian food, there is a hole in the wall joint owned by 2 guys downtown.

Place is called "Taste of the Island", its a very small place, but the food is off the chain.
