Have you ever had a barley wine beer?
Malty with some sweetness. Almost raisin like. The 13 has more hops which is nice. The 12 aged a year is amazing.
I have two '12's at home and several '13's that will continue to age.
Grammar - Don't think you'll be able to get a 12 from the brewery unless you really sweet talk Andrew and possibly offer lots of money.

Question: I have 2-12's and 2-13's. I'm having a party at my house tonight and will be cracking open one. My plan is to only drink 1 per year. Which would you recommend. I'd like to try the 13 while the hops are fresh, but i'm also anxious to see how well the 12 aged.

Try the 13 fresh. Trust me when I say the 12 aged fantastically and will either taste the same or better next year.

I did. Last year around this time at my engagement party. I remember it being very very good. But i got pretty shithouse and woke up underneath the coffee table.
