Italian in NOLA

In town this weekend for the Zurich classic. Looking for one of those unheard of family owned Italian restaurants that won't cost an arm and a leg for a chicken parmesan. TIA

Venezia is pretty good in my opinion.

Do you think Venezia will be hard to get into tonight with the jazz fest crowd also in town?

I love the Italian Barrel and I love Vincent's. I've never had chicken parm at either. I've been with other folks who have and enjoyed it. Might be a little late for reservations at either with Jazz Fest going on, but you could try.

I don't think so but others may be able to give better info on that part. I'm not from NOLA and don't go to Jazz Fest as I'm usually working around this time every year.
If you have any people with you who like fried seafood, ask the waitress if they will do the off menu seafood platter. It's really good and a huge plate of food. The Italian items are good, and the steaks are great. Prices are modest too but I haven't been in a year or so. Doubt anything changed though.

Venezia makes a great pizza pie too that is underrated.

Fury’s
Fausto’s
Giordano’s
R&O’s
All in metairie, all family owned and will produce a great chicken parm.

I haven't been there in many years, but is Pascal's Manale still highly rated?
The Veal Parmigiana was always good.
If not, you can't go wrong with Vincent's

It hasn’t been highly thought of in a long time

Good to know, Thanks!

Venezia is good but since you'll be out by Avondale for the golf tournament I would recommend Mosca's.

Vincent’s?
I love Vincent’s for what it was is and have a number of friends who live in New Orleans who eat there frequently. It’s one of the better more traditional Italian restaurants at which I’ve eaten. Hoping to head there next month.

Pascal's Manale is what I was responding to.
