I have gotten to the point that I put black pepper in everything. It has become quite the obsession.

Sometimes i am not sure if it is helping or hurting the dish

Could you list any dishes that i shouldnt put black pepper on?

Thanks

I don’t think the body processes black pepper. Had an aunt who had stomach ulcers. Doc cut black pepper out of her diet.

I think people use black pepper on everything just because they think they should

Yep, black pepper is the shell surrounding the seed (white pepper) and does not digest.

Dad was in ICU several years ago when black pepper caused a diverticular bleed requiring over 20 units of blood in 2-3 days. The black pepper caught in the folds of the colon and rubbed a rough hole through next to a blood vessel and he very nearly bled out.

I use fresh ground black pepper on most dishes. There are few dishes where I thought, "I wish this didn't have black pepper."

The smoked black Tellicherry peppercorns from Red Stick Spice Co are great.
