No. I used to make the walk from school to McKenzie's on Prytania St. for breakfast of buttermilk drops and chocolate milk.

Tastee Donuts (their spelling) on the corner of Clearview Parkway and West Metairie Avenue sells buttermilk drops, cinnamon rolls, turtles, pound cakes, banana coffee cake, blackout cake and a couple other McKenzie's specialties.

I heard they may be using some of McKenzie's baking formulas at that location; sure miss a lot of things at McKenzie's...

I know the Tastee's on Esplanade & Transcontinental makes a bunch of the old McKenzie's recipes. Here is a king cake I bought season before last.

Nothing used to fix a hangover like a few buttermilk drops!

Randazzos is crap. I don't see the love for their king cakes. By far the worst I've had.

Anybody remember those classic Dick Bruce McKenzie's commercials?
My fav McK item was the Black Out Cake. Will try to remember the Harrison Ave. location next time I'm in town..........
