Southern Classic

2+2 Dark, Okra, and sweet grits. Also had their tenders on recommendation while up at the camp, and they are incredible as well. I do hate the one I stop at on the way to the camp doesn't have catfish anymore. That was Missionary Baptist Church Fish plate level good.

We always get a pile of food from Southern Classic in Many on our annual trip to Toledo Bend, and it is definitely legit. Better than all the offerings in Baton Rouge

I must say that the Church's on Government Street in Baton Rouge is the best Church's franchise of any true fried chicken franchise (excluding Cane's and Chick-fil-A

Cane’s and Chick-fil-A are not true chicken franchises. You have to serve traditional fried chicken for that honor.

They refurbished the one on Airline in Metairie near Causeway. Looks real nice. May need to check it out.

Since they don't have to pay taxes it's worth a try.

I couldn’t imagine owning a fried chicken big box chain

Oh I could imagine it. Those things have to print money in the south.

But, on the other hand, dealing with the employee pool and the smell of fried chicken grease all day every day would make me sick.

Haven’t had Churches Chicken in probably 30 years.

Used to love getting it with a cup of jalapeños, but in my area the remaining ones are far enough into the hood they issue you a gun at the front door.

Go there and get a biscuit, now.

They used to do those awful rolls.

Their biscuits are insanely good and crush their fellow chicken competitors.
