Working for a Conde Nast publication is a "once in a lifetime" opportunity for young people wanting to work for a major publication, and CN takes advantage of that.

It came out today that the assistant to the editor in chief was being paid $35k and has never been given a raise. This means with inflation, her salary has gone down as she has been there. She requested a raise a while back during this pandemic when she couldn't pay her rent, and was denied and told to find another job or deal with the $35k.

Racism aside, this is a really bad look for a company as large as BA. $35k when your employees are coming in to an office in Manhattan is pretty crazy

It was. I worked there in the late 90s. The pay was shite, but the perks were incredible, particularly for a young, straight single male.
