6 pack of Cigar City Jai Alai or 6 pack of Terrapin High and Hoppy... $3.99 each.

Jai Alai cans are marked canned in mid October, Terrapin is marked best by mid January. Went and got this morning. Just had a can of each. Still takes pretty darn good, but I'll probably won't hang on these too long.

Won't mind slamming back some Jai Alai today while watching the Saints put Tampa Brady on his backside. Gladly will drink their beer and beat them in football!

First off, it's kind of what you would expect that type of store to be. While it's clean (as in no dirt), it's kind of stuff everywhere, and obviously, they may have different items from time to time.

You have to be willing to set aside your notions regarding best by dates.

Personally, I stay away from anything that I feel needs to be kept in a fridge, so I don't get any milk, juice, meats, cheeses, etc.

Most of their frozen goods are between 3 and 6 months past their best by dates. I have gotten frozen items (pizzas, waffles, ice cream for example) and it's been great. You can sometimes pick up pints of Haggen Dazs for 99 cents each. Tombstone pizzas 2 for $4, etc.

Most of their non-perishable items look ok, just might be a damaged can or box, etc.

They had some margarita mixes there, $2 a bottle, last month, I got a bunch of those and they were good.

It's a place where you just have to take 30-45 min to walk around and see everything they got. 95% of the stuff you will immediately pass on, but that 5% - which changes from time to time - can be great deals.

When I was there this morning, most of the customers seemed like the kind you would see in Target.

Jai Alai has a very short shelf life. If it is kept cold at all times it will last awhile. If not, it will taste like absolute shite after 2 months.
