I do and I own two ovens.
Why are you people offended because pellet grills are basically convection ovens?
I cook good stuff in the oven. Pellet grills are not good devices to cook steaks and hamburgers nor are ovens (although ovens do have broilers capable of temps higher than a pellet grill). A charcoal grill is by far the best device for that. Pellet grills are not good smokers because at temps above about 220 the pellets burn so clean there is no smoke at all. I have smoked pork and chicken all my life and I want to smoke it at about 275. I cooked butts on my Traeger a couple of times and to impart any flavor at all I have to first cook them on the low temp "smoke" setting for a few hours and then turn it up. I even called their customer service and they told me their device was NOT a smoker.
Look they are convenient and outside---they are not good grills or smokers. It is a convection oven.
That shouldn't offend you.

I am not offened, I just think you are full of shite.

JD I do agree that pellets don’t put out a great deal of smoke flavor compared to an egg. But some people like that. I find you are seeing more people add a smoke tube to their pellet grills to get more smoke flavor.

This is the a brisket I did a couple weeks back on my pellet smoker... it’s really a shame I couldn’t get a good smoke ring

Well let me really piss you off---I hate Yeti coolers and all their knock offs. I have two knock offs.
They are too heavy. They don't work unless they are are "pre chilled". Rarely if ever have need to keep something in a cooler long enough to justify their inconveniences.
With two Yeti knock offs my go to cooler for fishing trips and outings is a $50 igloo.

People should go ahead and buy a $1000 pellet grill because if you cook long enough in it you have a "smoke ring".
Of course a $150 electric smoker with chips will do the same thing. Just throw the $850 difference out the window if you don't like it.
A $150 Weber grill will grill FAR better than any brand of pellet grill.

Well no shite because that’s what it is designed for but you’re also completely discounting the features that make pellet smokers so attractive

Electrics won’t do smoke rings.

People should go buy a $1500 weber because it will out perform a $400 pellet grill.
I like to misrepresent shite also....

Yup... I stared out using a master built electric and the smoked produced doesn’t compare.

Same, I did some mods, but the amnps was by far the best one. It produced some good meats for what it was that's for sure. Got me into smoking.
I went stick after that and hated using it. Made great meats, but I got tired of the time investment and didn't use it nearly as much as my MB. I decided to go electric after that again, should have gotten a pellet though, but they weren't as widely used back then. I went with a Smokin It 3, basically a Cookshack electric clone. I tried a lot of shite, but I had issues even getting meat as good as my MB with the amnps, I ended up about the same level as the MB with amnps.
I got a small GMG after that and loved it. I've been considering getting a bigger Rec Teq or Yoder for awhile, but also had interest to try a MB gravity series. For $150, the small 560 I couldn't pass up trying to see how they perform.
