Irene's
Me and my friends had no idea the bill we were getting ourselves into, but it was the best meal I've ever had.

Check out Mr Johns steakhouse. It is smaller and has an intimate setting. And the food is great; menu is fairly diverse.
. She would love it'

This makes me think it is a little more "casual" am I correct? I will be in NO in a month or so. So I am planning my meals already. Not looking for dressy though. Alum Jr is tagging along so fancy is out.

Commanders
/thread
eta: there are hundreds of great restaurants in new orleans but since you said ONE night, IMO, there is really only one option. Commanders is hands down the best restaurant in nola. Not just in the food quality but service and cleanliness. They really make you feel special there.

Feelings cafe... A little pricey but she will love it

What I meant by diverse is that even though it is a steakhouse, there is a lot more than just steaks.
It is a little more casual than some of the other establishments mentioned. Collared shirt, some slacks or even jeans, and nice shoes.

Yep. Why won't they take The Emeril Winner suggestion? One meal, one night August is the clear winner.
