Charlie's Steakhouse goes so far as to tell you to raise your napkin to protect your clothes from splattering.

You need to eat fast at Charlie's or you medium will be well done by the time you are done.

Ruth’s original location and now the Metairie location were/are best steakhouse in America. Nothing beats it sizzling right out the oven. Resting no thanks

That's a bold claim. Both on the rest thing and those being the best steakhouses in America. Neither is anywhere to be found on this list of the top 50 in the country, though there is one from New Orleans in the top 30.

3 from Chicago, but it's missing Bavette's, so I may be questioning this list.

Also, I just watched an episode of Chopped the other day where a girl got chopped mainly because she had failed to let her lamb or whatever rest before she sliced and plated it. And those judges are famous chefs. Soooo...

I love these "lists" that come out from obscure web pages and the food in the pics looks like straight up garbage.

Not sure how Buckhorn exchange made the list. It is a cool place but not life changing as far as food goes.

Her and family lived above the restaurant in an apartment when first starting. That Ruth’s was the best steakhouse in the country up until Katrina. I personally am not a fan anymore. The location in Harrah’s is just not very good. More of a place to be “seen” then actually enjoy a good meal. I’ll walk 6 blocks to Dickie Brennan’s in a heart beat now.
