I'm not really from there. I could recommend places that aren't dives to eat but I'm not very educated on the dives in Baton Rouge. I'm just hypothesizing that there are probably a couple that no one mentioned on here that aren't too bad.

One of the mysteries of BR cuisine, why do people whose opinion I normally respect, like this place? I have been 3 times and the buffet was nothing that isn't better at Golden Corral, the menu items, esp the ribs, are far from exceptional.
Across the street is Jasmine on the Strip Mall, much better everything.

Ronnies has some killer Jamaican food like patties that I love. Not much else for me though.
The only place I can imagine them going is Louies. But I've noticed that almost every place they choose cooks everything from scratch. You'd be lucky to find anywhere like that anymore around here or in the shitty city to the southeast.

i've been lucky enough to go twice and the buffet was filled with fresh food. i have no complaints
