Been out of the dating game for about 10+ years. Ex and I had our places we liked, but I’m going out with a female I had a thing for in high school and wanted to try something new.

Old places
- Louisiana Lagniappe
- Ruffino’s
- Ruth’s Chris
- Zorba’s

Suggestions for tonight? TIA

ETA: I love them, but old places are the ones I’m trying to avoid for the date.

Tsunami, you can look at the view if things don’t go so well.

If you want a fun loose environment maybe chimes. They'll have the bowl games and LSU basketball on. Always have that if it's shitty. After chimes could walk over to barcadia and play strip air hockey.

What kind of vibe are you going for? Just shooting in the dark, I'd probably do Overpass Merchant for casual, Kalurah for kind of nice, and Cocha if I'm trying to be fancy.

This shouldn’t be an issue. We’ve hung out a lot and have a great connection already. She told me I should have asked her out in high school.

Kind of nice to fancy, but would prefer to keep out of downtown if at all possible.

Cocha has an adjacent (small) parking lot, but you may have other reasons.

If you've never been to Kalurah Street Grill, I think that would fit the bill. It's under the overpass where Chelsea's used to be. You can relax, have a few drinks, and share small plates, or you can blow out a $150 bill between the two of you. And the space is pretty cool (they completely gutted and remodeled the placed, so don't think it looks like Chelsea's ).

I would go Overpass or Gino's depending on the girl.

Good luck with the sex!

Been to KSG for a drink, but not to eat. Heard good things about it, but remember it being loud or am I mistaken?

Looking for something quiet and intimate.

I've never found it loud, but I'm not really a "Friday night at 7" kind of diner. With that said, you might want to request something away from the main entrance if there is a private party going on in the annex as they can be a bit rowdy.

Gino's for sure, Juban's just isn't what it used to be. I would go to Mansur's before Juban's at this point.

Of places that haven't been mentioned, maybe Palermo or Stab's across the street. The GF and I had Palermo last night and enjoyed it. Was pretty quiet with it being a weekday and the rainy weather.

+1 on Kalurah as well. They are fantastic.

I agree with this. Small quaint place. Probably relatively uncrowded on a Thurs night.

For a fun environment that has food, maybe some place like Olive or Twist?

Also: Bin 77 might serve the purpose as well. Start with dinner in the main area, and then after dinner head over to the sidebar for a drink.
