It is just a big free concert in the park they do every year. This year it is The Wailers(of Bob Marley and the Wailers) and Rusted Root who is kind of a hippy type jam band. It is lots of fun. They have food and beer vendors also.

"That didn't come out right either."

If you get so bothered about seeing a bunch of shirtless men you don't have to click on it. Jeesh.

Everyone thinks this until they actually do it. When I was 175-180 I looked about like he does if not a little leaner. I have actually went down ten pounds lower than the picture I posted earlier and did not look emaciated. It does depend on how you lose it. If you are just dieting and doing cardio you will lose a lot of muscle mass along with fat. If you are lifting heavy and dieting/cardio you will look a lot different.
Yep. People severely underestimate just how much fat they actually have, and how many lbs that equals.

IF he did it correctly by monitoring protein and calories yes, 20 lbs would make hiM shredded like a body builder. But that is hard to do. If he lost 20 lbs simply by cutting calories, he would look emaciated IMHO
LOL no.
He's 215 @ 6'1". That's relatively heavy, although he's obviously in good shape and it's mostly muscle.

Serious though, is heavy weight and low reps the best way to go? I'm 54. I only act like a kid.
Although "lift heavy" is what all the cool kids are doing and saying these days, it's not really necessary. I mean, yea lift hard and do other resistance stuff of course, but there's ZERO reason to be doing super low rep stuff at 54 (or 34) unless you're trying to compete in BB or lifting.

By lifting heavy I just mean lifting hard/going to failure.

I lift heavy. I feel it's the best for muscle sparing when under a calorie deficit, according to lyle McDonalds teachings

I can´t avoid lifting heavy, it´s what we´ve always done, isn´t it?
At my age, what I do isn´t the same as before, I do much less free weight work (articulations/joints can´t handle it, even though the muscle can), and more machine. I am maxing most machines out (including adding external weight), with high reps and at least three sets per exercise (seven or eight sets per muscle group).
I´ll go heavy on free weight, do low reps, and maybe three sets per exercise, five per muscle.
Nevertheless, I´ll mix it up. I will also do a lot of high rep, lower weight, and body weight stuff, until fatigue.
Ah, and cardio. Lots of cardio.

I do lots of forced reps, rest pause reps, drops sets etc to up the intensity and go beyond failure. I still do free weights but find machines better for those methods especially training solo.
