Ideal mkt has fajita meat and chicken they sell that has a red marinade. Anyone have the recipe?

(FWIW- I asked. They don't sell just the marinade, and wont give the recipe)

probably is chiles and annatto paste (achiote).
we are building the blue store location right next to the ideal market on burbank/staring and i've eaten lunch there a few times. best bang for the buck in the city

yeah, what cgrand said. Find a recipe you like, put everything in the blender, process until liquefied, pour over and marinate meat 12-24 hours.

Grill hot to achieve a char without overcooking.

Look for recipes with (or add) natural fruit tenderizers (pineapple, kiwi, papaya).

Blue Store, Ideal Market, and Waffle House in the same parking lot. What could go wrong?

That said, my power was out all night Friday. Took my 11-12 year old sons and their buddy to their first after-midnight Waffle House adventure. Don't want them to be wide-eyed rookies when they hit college.

This could be completely different, but the Mexican grocery stores in my area always have seasoned meat that is red colored. The main one I buy is costillas de res (beef short ribs cut flanken style).

They season heavily with the seasoning below or something like it, and then spray some combination of orange/lime/lemon juice all over and pile it up in the meat case. I guess that is considered a marinade.

Edit: This picture is not from a store I shop in, but it looks like this in the ones I shop in locally.

I love Ideal Mart but must admit that ordering there can be difficult and stressful due to almost everything being in Spanish. I have figured some things out or some work-arounds though.

I’ll say I’ve started in with fajita sazon rojo that has been a real hit.
